- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground lamb, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, paprika, salt, black pepper, and baking soda. Using your hands, mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into small sausage-shaped patties, approximately 2-3 inches long, ensuring they are uniform for even cooking.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Brush the grill with vegetable oil to prevent the cevapi from sticking.
- Grill the cevapi for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through, browned on the outside, and juicy on the inside.
- While the cevapi are grilling, warm the flatbread on the grill for about 1 minute on each side until pliable and slightly charred.
- To serve, place 2-3 cevapi on each piece of flatbread. Top with thinly sliced onions, a generous spoonful of ajvar, and a dollop of sour cream. Finish with a sprinkle of chopped parsley.
- Fold the flatbread around the cevapi to create a delicious sandwich and enjoy!
Tips
- For a spicier kick, add crushed red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
- You can substitute the ground lamb with ground pork for a different flavor profile.
