Ingredients

Original recipe serves 4

Water
4 cups
Black tea leaves
2 tablespoons
Cardamom pods
4, lightly crushed
Saffron threads
1/4 teaspoon
Rock candy (nabat)
1 piece per cup, or to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium pot, bring the 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.
  2. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and add the black tea leaves, crushed cardamom pods, and saffron threads to the pot.
  3. Allow the tea to simmer gently for 10 minutes, letting the flavors meld beautifully.
  4. After simmering, strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve into individual cups to remove the solids.
  5. Serve each cup with a piece of rock candy (nabat) placed on the side or inside, allowing guests to sweeten their tea to their liking.
