Instructions
- Start by chilling your champagne flute. A cold glass will keep your cocktail crisp and refreshing.
- Place a single sugar cube at the bottom of the champagne flute.
- Saturate the sugar cube with two dashes of Angostura bitters.
- Slowly pour 4 oz of chilled champagne into the flute, taking care not to overflow. The sugar cube will cause the champagne to fizz up.
- Gently stir the cocktail with a long spoon to dissolve the sugar cube, this will help to evenly distribute the sweetness and bitters.
- Finish off by garnishing with a twist of lemon. To do this, peel a thin strip of lemon peel, twist it over the glass to release its oils, and drop it in.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the bubbly goodness of your Classic Champagne Cocktail!
Tips
- For an added touch, you can also rim the glass with sugar before adding the ingredients.
- Although traditionally made with champagne, this cocktail can also be made with other sparkling wines like Prosecco or Cava.
