Instructions
- Preheat a grill or stovetop griddle to medium-high heat.
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently shape each portion into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center to prevent puffing during cooking.
- Season both sides of the patties generously with salt and black pepper.
- Place the patties on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side without pressing down.
- Flip the patties and cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and close the grill lid to help it melt.
- While the patties are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill for about 1 minute or until they are lightly golden.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a cheesy patty on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
- Top with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, and mustard to your preference.
- Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately with your favorite sides, like fries or a salad.
Tips
- For added flavor, try mixing in Worcestershire sauce or garlic powder into the ground beef before shaping the patties.
- Experiment with different cheeses such as American, Swiss, or pepper jack for a unique twist.
- Feel free to add bacon or avocado for an extra layer of indulgence.
