Cheddar Bacon Quiche

Indulge in the rich flavors of this Cheddar Bacon Quiche, a delightful dish that combines crispy bacon and sharp cheddar cheese nestled in a flaky pie crust. Perfect for brunch or a light dinner, this quiche is not only hearty but also a crowd-pleaser that brings a touch of sophistication to any table. With its origins tracing back to the French 'quiche Lorraine,' this dish has evolved to incorporate various ingredients, making it a beloved staple in kitchens around the world.

Ingredients

Pie crust
1 (9-inch), store-bought or homemade
Bacon
6 strips, cooked and crumbled
Cheddar cheese
1 1/2 cups, shredded (sharp or mild, to your preference)
Green onions
1/4 cup, chopped
Heavy cream
1 cup
Eggs
4 large
Salt
1/2 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate, pressing it firmly into the edges. Set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain, then crumble it into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Evenly distribute the crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese in the bottom of the pie crust.
  5. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, and black pepper until well combined and slightly frothy.
  6. Carefully pour the egg mixture over the bacon and cheese in the pie crust, ensuring an even distribution.
  7. Sprinkle the chopped green onions over the top of the quiche.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the quiche is set in the center and lightly browned on top. The edges should be golden and the filling puffed.
  9. Remove the quiche from the oven and allow it to cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Tips

  • 💡 For added flavor, try mixing in sautéed vegetables such as spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers.
  • 💡 You can substitute the bacon with cooked sausage or ham for a different twist.
  • 💡 This quiche can be made ahead of time and reheated for a quick meal.
