Ingredients
- Bread slices
- 4 slices (white, whole grain, or sourdough)
- Unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons, softened
- Ham slices
- 4 slices (preferably honey or smoked ham)
- Cheddar cheese
- 1 cup, grated
- Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon (optional, for added flavor)
Instructions
- Preheat a sandwich press or a non-stick pan over medium heat.
- Spread the softened butter on one side of each slice of bread evenly.
- On the unbuttered side of two slices of bread, spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard if using.
- Layer a slice of ham on top of the mustard, followed by 1/2 cup of grated cheddar cheese.
- Top with the remaining slices of bread, ensuring the buttered side is facing up.
