Ingredients

Ground beef

Salt
to taste
Black pepper
to taste
Cheddar cheese
4 slices
Hamburger buns
4
Mustard
to taste
Ketchup
to taste
Pickles
to taste
Onion
1, thinly sliced
Tomato
1, sliced
Lettuce
4 leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill or stovetop pan to medium-high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each for even cooking.
  3. Season both sides of the patties generously with salt and black pepper.
  4. Grill or cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (135°F for medium-rare, 145°F for medium, and 160°F for well-done).
  5. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
  6. While the patties finish cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun.
  8. Top each patty with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, and mustard as desired.
  9. Cover with the top half of the bun, press down gently, and serve the cheeseburgers hot.

Tips

  • 💡 For added flavor, consider mixing Worcestershire sauce into the ground beef before forming the patties.
  • 💡 Experiment with different cheeses like Swiss or pepper jack for a unique twist.
  • 💡 Try adding bacon for a bacon cheeseburger or avocado for a creamy texture.
