Chicken and Waffles

Ingredients

  • Maple syrup (for serving)
  • Butter (for waffles)
  • Milk (1 cup)
  • Eggs (2)
  • Waffle mix (2 cups)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • All (purpose flour - 2 cups)
  • Hot sauce (1 tablespoon)
  • Buttermilk (2 cups)
  • Chicken breasts (4, boneless and skinless)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken breasts in the buttermilk and hot sauce for at least 2 hours.
  2. Preheat your waffle iron and your deep fryer to 375°F.
  3. In a shallow dish, mix the flour with salt and pepper.
  4. Dredge the chicken in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  5. Fry the chicken in the deep fryer until golden brown and cooked through, about 10 minutes.
  6. While the chicken is frying, prepare the waffles according to the package instructions.
  7. Serve the fried chicken on top of the waffles with butter and maple syrup.
