Servings: 4
Ingredients
- Ground chicken
- 1 pound
- Wonton wrappers
- 1 package (about 50 wrappers)
- Vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup (for frying)
- Water
- 1/4 cup (for sealing)
- Garlic
- 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger
- 1 tablespoon, finely grated
- Green onions
- 3, finely chopped
- Soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon
- Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Take a wonton wrapper and place a small spoonful of the chicken mixture in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water using your fingertip.
- Fold the wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle. Press the edges firmly to seal, ensuring there are no air pockets. You can also pleat the edges for a decorative touch if desired.
- Repeat with the remaining wonton wrappers and chicken mixture until they are all filled.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the wontons in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. If you prefer a softer wonton, you can steam them instead of frying.
- Remove the wontons from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
- Serve the wontons hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, or a homemade ponzu sauce.
