Servings: 12
Ingredients
- Cassava flour
- 2 cups
- Grated cheese
- 1 cup, parmesan or similar
- Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Melted butter
- 1/2 cup
- Eggs
- 2, large
- Milk
- 1/2 cup
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the Chipa from sticking.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cassava flour, grated cheese, and salt. Stir these dry ingredients until they are well mixed.
- In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, and milk. These will serve as your wet ingredients.
- Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Stir until the ingredients are well combined and form a dough.
- Using clean hands, knead the dough for a few minutes until it becomes smooth and pliable.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a small ball using your hands.
- Arrange the balls of dough on the prepared baking sheet, making sure to leave enough space between each one as they will expand while baking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the Chipa turns a lovely golden brown color and is cooked through.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the Chipa cool slightly before serving. Enjoy this traditional Paraguayan delicacy warm!
