
Chocolate Chip and Caramel Skillet Cookie
This indulgent dessert is a giant chocolate chip cookie baked in a skillet, with gooey caramel in the center.
Ingredients
- Vanilla ice cream (for serving)
- Sea salt flakes (1/2 teaspoon)
- Caramel candies (1 cup, chopped)
- Chocolate chips (1 1/2 cups)
- Salt (1/2 teaspoon)
- Baking soda (1 teaspoon)
- All (purpose flour - 3 cups)
- Vanilla extract (2 teaspoons)
- Eggs (2)
- Brown sugar (1 cup)
- Granulated sugar (1 cup)
- Unsalted butter (1 cup)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped caramel candies.
- Grease a 10-inch cast iron skillet and press the cookie dough evenly into the skillet.
- Sprinkle sea salt flakes over the top of the dough.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
