Ingredients

Original recipe serves 12

All-purpose flour
2 cups
Granulated sugar
3/4 cup
Baking powder
2 teaspoons
Salt
1/2 teaspoon
Milk
1 cup
Vegetable oil
1/2 cup
Egg
1
Vanilla extract
1 teaspoon
Chocolate chips
1 cup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare your muffin tin by lining it with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, thoroughly combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract. This will form your wet mixture.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture into the dry mixture, stirring lightly until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as it can make the muffins tough.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips into the batter.
  6. Scoop the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup to about 2/3 full. This will ensure the muffins don't overflow as they rise.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean. This is the best way to check if the muffins are fully baked.
  8. Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for 5 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. This will prevent the muffins from becoming soggy from the heat.
