
Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies
These delicious chocolate chip oatmeal cookies are chewy, soft, and packed with chocolate chips.
Ingredients
- Chocolate chips (1 1/2 cups)
- Old (fashioned oats - 3 cups)
- Salt (1/2 teaspoon)
- Baking soda (1 teaspoon)
- All (purpose flour - 1 1/2 cups)
- Vanilla extract (1 teaspoon)
- Egg (2)
- Granulated sugar (1/2 cup)
- Brown sugar (1 cup)
- Butter (1 cup, softened)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix well.
- Stir in the oats and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
