
Chuck Steak with Red Wine Sauce

Ingredients
- Butter (2 tablespoons)
- Rosemary (1 teaspoon)
- Thyme (1 teaspoon)
- Tomato paste (2 tablespoons)
- Beef broth (1 cup)
- Red wine (1 cup)
- Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
- Onion (1 medium, chopped)
- Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Chuck steak (4 pieces, 6 oz each)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Season the chuck steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the steaks and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until browned.
- Transfer the steaks to a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
- While the steaks are cooking, prepare the red wine sauce.
- In the same skillet used to cook the steaks, add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the red wine, beef broth, tomato paste, thyme, and rosemary. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
- Remove the sauce from the heat and stir in the butter until melted and combined.
- Serve the steaks with the red wine sauce spooned over the top.
