Servings: 4
Ingredients
- Ground beef (1 pound (about 450g))
- Salt (1 teaspoon)
- Black pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
- Cheddar cheese (4 slices)
- Burger buns (4, preferably brioche or sesame seed)
- Lettuce (4 leaves, washed and dried)
- Tomato (1 large, sliced)
- Onion (1 small, sliced)
- Ketchup (1/4 cup)
- Mayonnaise (1/4 cup)
Instructions
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
- Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. For medium, aim for an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to help it melt.
- While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or skillet until golden brown.
- Spread mayonnaise and ketchup evenly on the bottom half of each bun.
- Layer the lettuce, tomato, and onion on top of the condiments.
- Carefully place the cooked patties on the prepared buns and top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve the Chur Burgers hot, accompanied by your favorite side dish such as crispy fries or a fresh salad.
