Churrasco is a beloved Brazilian barbecue tradition, celebrated for its smoky, succulent grilled meats and vibrant chimichurri sauce. This dish is not just a meal; it's a festive gathering of family and friends, where the aroma of marinated meats sizzling on the grill fills the air. Originating from the southern regions of Brazil, churrasco is a culinary experience that embodies the spirit of Brazilian culture, inviting everyone to share in the joy of good food, lively conversation, and great company.

Servings: 4

Ingredients

Chimichurri sauce
1 cup
Olive oil
1/4 cup
Lime juice
2 tablespoons
Paprika
1 teaspoon
Garlic powder
1 teaspoon
Black pepper
1 teaspoon
Salt
1 teaspoon
Pork sausages
1 pound
Chicken thighs
1 pound, boneless and skinless
Beef steak (sirloin or flank)
1 pound

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chimichurri sauce by combining 1 cup of chopped parsley, 1/4 cup of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of lime juice, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and salt and pepper to taste in a bowl. Mix well and set aside to let the flavors meld.
  2. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  3. In a large bowl, season the beef steak, chicken thighs, and pork sausages with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Ensure all the meat is evenly coated with the seasonings.
  4. Drizzle the meats with lime juice and 1/4 cup of olive oil, making sure they are well coated. Let them marinate for about 15-30 minutes to enhance the flavor.
  5. Place the meats on the grill and cook for about 10 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy: 165°F for chicken, 145°F for pork, and 130°F for medium-rare steak.
  6. Once cooked, remove the meats from the grill and allow them to rest for a few minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices.
  7. Serve the churrasco sliced or whole, accompanied by the chimichurri sauce on the side. Enjoy with traditional sides like rice, beans, or grilled vegetables.
