Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch (23 cm) round baking dish.
- Spread pitted cherries evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt, whisking to mix well.
- In another bowl, crack the eggs and beat lightly. Add the milk and vanilla extract to the eggs, stirring until fully incorporated.
- Gradually pour the wet mixture into the bowl with dry ingredients. Whisk until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
- Pour the batter over the cherries in the baking dish, ensuring the fruit is evenly covered.
- Bake the clafoutis in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes. It's ready when the top is golden brown and the custard set.
- Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool down for a few minutes.
- Just before serving, sprinkle a generous dusting of powdered sugar over the top of the clafoutis.
