1 pound (80/20 for juiciness)
Salt
1 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Hamburger buns
4, toasted
Lettuce leaves
4
Tomato
1, sliced
Onion
1, sliced (red or white)
Pickles
4 slices
Mayonnaise
2 tablespoons
Mustard
2 tablespoons
Ketchup
2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Gently mix and form into 4 equal patties, making a small indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing.
  3. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (medium-rare to medium is recommended for juiciness).
  4. While the patties are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
  5. Place a cooked patty on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
  6. Top each patty with a crisp lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, and a slice of onion.
  7. Spread mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup on the top half of each bun, then place on top of the burger.
