Servings: 4

Ingredients

Ground beef
1 pound (80/20 for juiciness)
Salt
1 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Hamburger buns
4, toasted
Lettuce leaves
4
Tomato
1, sliced
Onion
1, sliced (red or white)
Pickles
4 slices
Mayonnaise
2 tablespoons
Mustard
2 tablespoons
Ketchup
2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Gently mix and form into 4 equal patties, making a small indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing.
  3. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (medium-rare to medium is recommended for juiciness).
  4. While the patties are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
  5. Place a cooked patty on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
  6. Top each patty with a crisp lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, and a slice of onion.
  7. Spread mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup on the top half of each bun, then place on top of the burger.
  8. Serve immediately with pickles on the side.
