Ingredients

Original recipe serves 4

Beef sirloin steak
1 pound, cut into thin strips
Butter
3 tablespoons
Onion
1 medium, finely chopped
Garlic
2 cloves, minced
Mushrooms
8 ounces, sliced
Beef broth
1 cup
Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon
Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon
Sour cream
1 cup
Salt
to taste
Black pepper
to taste
Fresh parsley
for garnish, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until bubbling. Add the beef sirloin strips in a single layer and cook until browned on all sides, about 3-5 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the chopped onions, sliced mushrooms, and minced garlic. Sauté until the onions are translucent and the mushrooms are browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a simmer. Let it cook for about 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. Return the browned beef to the skillet and reduce the heat to low. Stir in the sour cream, mixing well to create a creamy sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Let the stroganoff cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly. Remove from heat.
  6. Serve the beef stroganoff over cooked egg noodles or rice, and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.

Tips

  • 💡 For a richer flavor, consider using a combination of beef and pork.
  • 💡 You can add a splash of white wine to the sauce for extra depth.
  • 💡 Feel free to include other vegetables such as bell peppers or carrots for added nutrition and color.
