
Coconut Prawn Curry
This flavorful coconut prawn curry is made with succulent prawns cooked in a creamy coconut sauce with aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- Cooking oil (2 tablespoons)
- Fresh cilantro (2 tablespoons, chopped)
- Salt (to taste)
- Lime juice (1 tablespoon)
- Red chili flakes (1/2 teaspoon)
- Coriander powder (1/2 teaspoon)
- Cumin powder (1/2 teaspoon)
- Turmeric powder (1/2 teaspoon)
- Curry powder (2 teaspoons)
- Ginger (1 tablespoon, grated)
- Garlic (3 cloves, minced)
- Onion (1, finely chopped)
- Coconut milk (1 can (400 ml))
- Prawns (500 grams)
Instructions
- Heat the cooking oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and cook for another minute.
- Add the curry powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and red chili flakes. Stir well to coat the onions and spices.
- Add the prawns to the pan and cook until they turn pink and are cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
- Pour in the coconut milk and stir to combine.
- Simmer the curry for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Add lime juice and season with salt to taste.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
- Serve the coconut prawn curry hot with steamed rice or naan bread.
