A fascinating fusion of the rich, deep flavors of freshly brewed coffee and the umami essence of soy sauce, this marinade is a hidden gem for any food enthusiast. The marriage of these robust ingredients creates a flavorful and aromatic blend that adds a remarkable depth of flavor to beef, chicken, or pork. Serves Enough marinade for 2lbs of meat

Ingredients

Ground black pepper
1 teaspoon
Garlic
4 cloves, minced
Brown sugar
2 tablespoons
Soy sauce
1/2 cup
Strong brewed coffee
1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Combine the freshly brewed coffee, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and black pepper in a bowl. Stir the mixture until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Place your preferred choice of meat (beef, chicken, or pork) in a large dish or a zip-top bag.
  3. Pour the marinade over the meat, ensuring all parts are fully submerged in the marinade. If necessary, turn the meat to help distribute the marinade evenly.
  4. Let the meat marinate in the refrigerator for a minimum of 2 hours. For optimal flavor absorption, marinate overnight.
  5. After marinating, remove the meat and discard the leftover marinade. Cook the meat as per your preferred cooking method - grill, roast, or pan-sear.

Tips

  • 💡 For a spicier kick, add 1-2 teaspoons of crushed red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • 💡 This marinade can also be used for tofu or vegetables for a vegan option.
  • 💡 To avoid foodborne illnesses, never reuse marinade that has been in contact with raw meat.
