Servings: 12

Ingredients

Unsalted butter
1 cup (2 sticks), melted
Granulated sugar
2 cups
Eggs
4 large
Vanilla extract
2 teaspoons
All-purpose flour
1 cup
Unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup
Baking powder
1 teaspoon
Salt
1/2 teaspoon
Chocolate chips
1 cup (semi-sweet or dark)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the brownies fudgy.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips, distributing them evenly throughout the batter.
  7. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake.
  9. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before cutting them into squares.
