Ingredients
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 cups
- Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Baking soda
- 1 teaspoon
- All-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 cups
- Vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons
- Eggs
- 2 large
- Brown sugar
- 3/4 cup, packed
- Granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup
- Unsalted butter
- 1 cup (2 sticks), softened
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Using a cookie scoop or rounded tablespoons, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing each cookie about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. The centers may look slightly underbaked, but they will continue to firm up as they cool.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Enjoy these delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies with a glass of milk or your favorite dessert beverage!
Tips
- For an extra touch of flavor, consider adding a sprinkle of sea salt on top of the cookies before baking.
- You can also substitute half of the chocolate chips with nuts or dried fruit for added texture.
- For a chewier cookie, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking.
