Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the drippings in the skillet.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Remove the beef and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent and tender, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the pinto beans, kidney beans, baked beans, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
- Return the crispy bacon (chopped) and browned ground beef to the skillet. Stir to combine everything evenly.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning as needed.
- Cover the skillet and let the mixture simmer over low heat for 1 hour, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional chopped bacon or green onions if desired.
Tips
- For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the mix.
- Feel free to substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- These beans pair wonderfully with cornbread or a side of coleslaw for a complete meal.
