Ingredients

Original recipe serves 1

Mezcal
2 ounces
Prickly pear puree
1 ounce
Fresh lime juice
1 ounce
Jalapeño slices
2-3 slices (adjust to taste)
Agave syrup
1/2 ounce (optional, for sweetness)
Hibiscus tea (brewed and cooled)
2 ounces
Ice
as needed
Lime wheel or prickly pear slice
for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a shaker, muddle the jalapeño slices to release their heat.
  2. Add the mezcal, prickly pear puree, fresh lime juice, agave syrup (if using), and ice to the shaker.
  3. Shake well until chilled and combined.
  4. Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice.
  5. Top with hibiscus tea for a beautiful color contrast.
  6. Garnish with a lime wheel or a slice of prickly pear.
