Cranberry Compote

- 1 tablespoon Orange zest

Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine fresh cranberries, freshly squeezed orange juice, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and orange zest.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir the mixture occasionally until it comes to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 10-15 minutes. During this time, the cranberries will burst and the sauce will begin to thicken.
- After simmering, remove the saucepan from the heat. Let the cranberry compote cool before serving.
- You can now serve the cranberry compote. It makes a perfect topping for desserts, pancakes, or roasted meats.
Tips
- For a variation, try adding a splash of vanilla extract or swapping the orange juice for apple cider.
