Infused with rich spices and served with a refreshing yogurt sauce, this dish combines the comfort of a classic burger with the bold flavors of Indian cuisine. Whether you're hosting a summer barbecue or looking for a unique weeknight dinner, these juicy chicken patties are sure to impress. Originating from the fusion of Western and Eastern flavors, this burger brings a delightful twist to your palate.

Ingredients

Ground chicken
1 pound
Curry powder
2 tablespoons
Garlic
2 cloves, minced
Salt
1 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Lemon juice
1 tablespoon
Plain yogurt
1/2 cup
Tomato
1, sliced
Lettuce
4 leaves, washed and dried
Burger buns
4, toasted

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, curry powder, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Use your hands to mix until everything is evenly incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium heat. Once hot, place the patties on the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the patties are golden brown.
  4. While the burgers are grilling, prepare the yogurt sauce by combining plain yogurt and lemon juice in a small bowl. Stir well and season with a pinch of salt if desired.
  5. To assemble the burgers, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Add a cooked chicken patty, a slice of tomato, and a generous dollop of the yogurt sauce. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.

Tips

  • 💡 For an extra kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the chicken mixture.
  • 💡 Serve with a side of sweet potato fries or a fresh cucumber salad for a complete meal.
  • 💡 Feel free to use whole wheat buns for a healthier option.
