Ingredients
- Water
- 2 cups
- Gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)
- 3 tablespoons
- Soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons
- Sugar
- 1 tablespoon
- Garlic
- 2 cloves, minced
- Rice cakes
- 1 pound, cylindrical shape
- Fish cakes
- 1 cup, sliced
- Green onions
- 2, chopped
- Toasted sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon
- Hard-boiled eggs
- 2, halved (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large pan, combine the water, gochujang, soy sauce, sugar, and minced garlic. Stir well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Place the pan over medium heat and bring the sauce to a gentle simmer.
- Once the sauce is simmering, add the rice cakes and fish cakes to the pan. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice cakes are soft and chewy, and the sauce has thickened.
- Stir in the chopped green onions, mixing well to combine all the flavors.
- Serve the deokbokki hot, garnished with halved hard-boiled eggs and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds.
