Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, sugar, chopped green onions, and black pepper. Mix well to create a flavorful marinade.
- Add the thinly sliced pork shoulder to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or ideally overnight for maximum flavor.
- Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat. Make sure it's well oiled to prevent sticking.
- Once the grill is hot, add the marinated pork slices in a single layer. Grill for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the pork is cooked through and has a nice char.
- Remove the grilled pork from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve it warm with cooked rice and fresh lettuce leaves for wrapping.
- Garnish with additional chopped green onions and enjoy your Dwaeji Bulgogi with a side of kimchi or pickled vegetables for an authentic Korean experience.
Tips
- For a spicier kick, increase the amount of gochujang or add some sliced fresh chili peppers to the marinade.
- You can also substitute pork shoulder with chicken thighs or beef if preferred.
