Pork shoulder
1 pound, thinly sliced
Gochujang
3 tablespoons
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
Sesame oil
1 tablespoon
Garlic
4 cloves, minced
Ginger
1 tablespoon, grated
Sugar
1 tablespoon
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Green onions
2, chopped (plus extra for garnish)
Lettuce leaves
for serving
Cooked rice
for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, sugar, chopped green onions, and black pepper. Mix well to create a flavorful marinade.
  2. Add the thinly sliced pork shoulder to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or ideally overnight for maximum flavor.
  3. Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat. Make sure it's well oiled to prevent sticking.
  4. Once the grill is hot, add the marinated pork slices in a single layer. Grill for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the pork is cooked through and has a nice char.
  5. Remove the grilled pork from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve it warm with cooked rice and fresh lettuce leaves for wrapping.
  6. Garnish with additional chopped green onions and enjoy your Dwaeji Bulgogi with a side of kimchi or pickled vegetables for an authentic Korean experience.
