Ingredients
- Edamame (in pods)
- 2 cups, frozen
- Sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil.
- Add the frozen edamame to the boiling water and cook for 5 minutes, or until the edamame are bright green and heated through.
- While the edamame are cooking, heat a dry skillet over medium heat. Add the sesame seeds and toast for about 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are golden and fragrant.
- Transfer the toasted sesame seeds to a mortar and pestle, add the sea salt, and grind together until you achieve a coarse powder. Alternatively, you can use a spice grinder.
- Drain the edamame and place them in a serving bowl. Toss the warm edamame with the sesame salt until well coated.
- Serve immediately, with extra sesame salt on the side for dipping.
