- 2 tablespoons
- Onion
- 1 large, thinly sliced
- Brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon
- Balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon
- Endive
- 2 heads, sliced
- Goat cheese
- 4 ounces, crumbled
- Fresh thyme
- 1 tablespoon, chopped

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 6 equal squares.
- Place the pastry squares on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are caramelized, about 15 minutes.
- Stir in the brown sugar and balsamic vinegar, cooking for an additional 2 minutes until well combined. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
- Divide the caramelized onions evenly among the puff pastry squares, spreading them out in the center.
- Top each tartlet with a layer of sliced endive, followed by crumbled goat cheese and a sprinkle of chopped thyme.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the toppings are slightly caramelized.
- Remove from the oven and let the tartlets cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
Tips
- For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese on top before baking.
- If you prefer a more robust flavor, sauté some garlic with the onions during the caramelization process.
- These tartlets can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving for a warm, fresh appetizer.
