Ephesus Espresso

Inspired by the ancient city of Ephesus, this espresso is a captivating fusion of bold flavors. The robust intensity of fresh ground espresso beans is beautifully balanced with the sweetness of caramel and the richness of chocolate. Each delightful sip carries you on a journey through layers of flavor, echoing the depth and history of Ephesus itself.

Serves 1

Ingredients

Espresso beans
18 grams
Hot water
30 ml
Caramel syrup
2 teaspoons
Chocolate syrup
2 teaspoons

Instructions

  1. Begin by finely grinding the espresso beans. The consistency should be similar to table salt.
  2. Transfer the ground espresso into the portafilter of your espresso machine. Apply pressure to the grounds with a tamper until they are evenly distributed and compact.
  3. Attach the portafilter to the espresso machine. Start the extraction process, which typically takes 20 to 30 seconds.
  4. While the espresso is brewing, combine the chocolate syrup and caramel syrup in your serving cup. This will create a sweet and rich base for your espresso.
  5. Once the espresso is ready, pour it directly over the syrup mixture in the cup. The heat from the espresso will help blend the flavors together.
  6. Stir the espresso and syrup together until well combined.
  7. Serve your Ephesus Espresso immediately. Enjoy the bold, sweet flavors and the rich aroma.

Tips

  • 💡 For best results, use freshly roasted beans and grind them just before brewing.
  • 💡 Experiment with the ratio of syrup to espresso to find your preferred sweetness level.
  • 💡 To add a touch of luxury, top your Ephesus Espresso with a dollop of whipped cream.
