
Ethiopian Fruit Salad with Tej
This refreshing fruit salad is a popular Ethiopian dessert. It is served with Tej, a traditional Ethiopian honey wine.
Ingredients
- Mint leaves (a handful, chopped)
- Tej (ethiopian honey wine) (1 cup)
- Honey (2 tablespoons)
- Lemon juice (2 tablespoons)
- Mixed fruit (4 cups, chopped)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped fruit, lemon juice, and honey.
- Toss the fruit until it is well coated with the lemon juice and honey.
- Chill the fruit salad in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
- Just before serving, pour the Tej over the fruit salad and gently toss to combine.
- Garnish the fruit salad with the chopped mint leaves.
- Serve the fruit salad chilled, with extra Tej on the side if desired.
