Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a tart pan.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry to fit the tart pan.
- Carefully transfer the rolled pastry into the tart pan, pressing it gently into the bottom and up the sides of the pan. Ensure to remove any excess pastry.
- Using a fork, prick the bottom of the pastry. This helps to prevent it from puffing up during baking.
- Evenly spread the crumbled feta cheese over the pastry base.
- Arrange the halved cherry tomatoes over the feta cheese, followed by a sprinkle of fresh chopped basil.
- Drizzle olive oil over the assembled tart and season with salt and pepper according to your preference.
- Lightly brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg. This will give your tart a beautiful golden crust.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the tomatoes are slightly roasted.
- Once baked, remove the tart from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy your Mediterranean journey!
