Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a tart pan.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry to fit the tart pan.
  3. Carefully transfer the rolled pastry into the tart pan, pressing it gently into the bottom and up the sides of the pan. Ensure to remove any excess pastry.
  4. Using a fork, prick the bottom of the pastry. This helps to prevent it from puffing up during baking.
  5. Evenly spread the crumbled feta cheese over the pastry base.
  6. Arrange the halved cherry tomatoes over the feta cheese, followed by a sprinkle of fresh chopped basil.
  7. Drizzle olive oil over the assembled tart and season with salt and pepper according to your preference.
  8. Lightly brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg. This will give your tart a beautiful golden crust.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the tomatoes are slightly roasted.
  10. Once baked, remove the tart from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy your Mediterranean journey!
