
Fig and Bacon Wrapped Figs with Balsamic Reduction
These delicious appetizers feature fresh figs wrapped in crispy bacon and drizzled with a tangy balsamic reduction.
Ingredients
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Fresh rosemary (1 sprig)
- Honey (2 tablespoons)
- Balsamic vinegar (1/2 cup)
- Bacon slices (6)
- Fresh figs (12)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cut each fig in half lengthwise.
- Wrap each fig half with a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
- Place the wrapped figs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy.
- While the figs are baking, prepare the balsamic reduction.
- In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar, honey, and fresh rosemary.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the mixture has thickened.
- Remove the rosemary sprig and let the reduction cool slightly.
- Once the figs are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
- Drizzle the balsamic reduction over the bacon-wrapped figs.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
