Serves 4

Ingredients

Fresh figs
12, large
Blue cheese
6 ounces, crumbled
Walnuts
1/2 cup, chopped
Honey
2 tablespoons
Fresh thyme
1 tablespoon, chopped
Salt
1/4 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/4 teaspoon, freshly ground

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Carefully cut a small slit in the top of each fig and gently open it up without breaking it.
  3. Stuff each fig with a small piece of blue cheese, making sure to pack it in.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the chopped walnuts, honey, fresh thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a crumble topping.
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the stuffed figs on it.
  6. Generously sprinkle the walnut crumble mixture over the top of each stuffed fig.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the blue cheese is melted and the walnuts are golden brown.
  8. Remove the figs from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
  9. These stuffed figs can be served on their own or as part of a cheese platter, paired beautifully with a crisp white wine or a light, fruity red.

Tips

  • 💡 For an added twist, consider drizzling some balsamic reduction over the figs before serving.
  • 💡 If you prefer a milder cheese, goat cheese can be used instead of blue cheese for a different flavor experience.
  • 💡 Feel free to experiment with different herbs, such as rosemary or basil, to complement the flavors.
