12, ripe
Goat cheese
6 ounces, softened
Honey
3 tablespoons
Walnuts
1/2 cup, chopped
Fresh mint leaves
1/4 cup, for garnish
Salt
a pinch
Black pepper
a pinch

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut a small slit in the top of each fig, creating a pocket for the stuffing. Be careful not to cut all the way through.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened goat cheese with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  4. Using a small spoon or a piping bag, stuff each fig with a generous spoonful of goat cheese, ensuring it fills the pocket.
  5. Place the stuffed figs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Drizzle honey over the stuffed figs, allowing it to seep into the cheese and figs.
  7. Sprinkle chopped walnuts on top of each fig for added texture and flavor.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, until the figs are warm and the cheese is slightly melted.
  9. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh mint leaves before serving.
  10. Serve warm or at room temperature for a delightful appetizer.

Tips

  • 💡 For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding crumbled blue cheese to the goat cheese mixture.
  • 💡 These stuffed figs can also be grilled for a smoky flavor; simply place them on the grill for a few minutes until warmed through.
  • 💡 Feel free to substitute walnuts with pecans or almonds for a different nutty flavor.
