Fig and Goat Cheese Stuffed Figs with Honey Balsamic Glaze

This recipe is a delightful combination of sweet and savory that comes to life in your mouth. The figs, with their honeyed sweetness, are perfectly complemented by the tanginess of goat cheese. The honey balsamic glaze adds a glossy finish and a touch of acidity that elevates the entire dish. This appetizer is as visually stunning as it is delicious, making it a perfect addition to any dinner party or festive gathering. Figs have been a part of Mediterranean cuisine since ancient times, and this recipe is a modern take on the classic pairing of figs and cheese.

Servings: 4-5

Ingredients

  • Fresh basil leaves (8-10 leaves for garnish)
  • Honey (2 tablespoons)
  • Balsamic glaze (1/2 cup)
  • Goat cheese (1/2 cup)
  • Fresh figs (8-10 medium-sized figs)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Rinse the figs and pat dry. Cut a small slit in the top of each fig, creating a pocket for the stuffing.
  3. Stuff each fig with a small amount of goat cheese using a small spoon or a piping bag.
  4. Place the stuffed figs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the figs are soft and the cheese is slightly melted.
  6. While the figs are baking, prepare the honey balsamic glaze. Combine the balsamic glaze and honey in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until well combined and heated through. Remove from heat and set aside.
  7. Remove the figs from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  8. Drizzle the warm honey balsamic glaze over the stuffed figs.
  9. Garnish each fig with a fresh basil leaf.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!
