Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Rinse the chicken breasts under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- In a separate bowl, combine the fig preserves, honey, and Dijon mustard. Stir until you have a smooth, well-mixed glaze.
- Arrange the seasoned chicken breasts in a baking dish. Spoon the honey-fig glaze over each chicken breast, ensuring they are thoroughly coated.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is no longer pink in the center and the glaze has caramelized. You can use a meat thermometer to check - it should read at least 165°F (74°C).
- Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the chicken, making it more tender and juicy.
- Serve the Honey-Fig Glazed Chicken Breasts with your choice of side, such as roasted vegetables or a fresh salad, and enjoy the sweet and savory flavors of this historic dish.
