Servings: 4

Ingredients

Fresh figs
12 large, ripe figs
Ricotta cheese
1 cup, at room temperature
Orange marmalade
1/2 cup, for drizzling
Honey
2 tablespoons, for extra sweetness (optional)
Chopped walnuts
1/4 cup, for added crunch (optional)
Fresh mint leaves
for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Carefully wash the figs and pat them dry. Cut a small slit in each fig, making sure not to cut all the way through. Gently open them up to create a pocket.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix the ricotta cheese until smooth and creamy. If desired, add honey to sweeten the ricotta further.
  4. Spoon a generous amount of the ricotta mixture into each fig, filling them well.
  5. Place the stuffed figs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, until the figs are warm and slightly softened.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes.
  8. Drizzle the warm orange marmalade over the stuffed figs, allowing it to pool slightly at the bottom.
  9. For an added crunch, sprinkle chopped walnuts on top, and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
  10. Serve warm as an elegant appetizer or a sweet treat, and enjoy the burst of flavors!
