Filet Mignon with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Steamed Broccoli

Ingredients

  • Broccoli (1 large head, cut into florets)
  • Milk (1/2 cup)
  • Potatoes (4 large, peeled and quartered)
  • Garlic (4 cloves, minced)
  • Butter (2 tablespoons)
  • Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Filet mignon (4 pieces)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Season the filet mignon with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat the olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the filet mignon and sear on all sides, about 2 minutes per side.
  5. Transfer the skillet to the oven and cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the filet mignon is cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  6. While the filet mignon is cooking, place the potatoes in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil.
  7. Cook the potatoes until they are tender, about 15 minutes.
  8. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  9. Add the minced garlic and milk to the pot and mash the potatoes until they are creamy.
  10. Steam the broccoli in a steamer basket over boiling water until it is tender, about 5 minutes.
  11. Serve the filet mignon with the garlic mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli.
