Servings: 6
Ingredients
- Spaghetti noodles
- 1 pound
- Ground beef
- 1 pound
- Hot dogs
- 4, sliced
- Tomato sauce
- 1 can (15 ounces)
- Tomato paste
- 1 can (6 ounces)
- Garlic
- 4 cloves, minced
- Onion
- 1 medium, finely chopped
- Sugar
- 2 tablespoons
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon, or to taste
- Black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon, or to taste
- Grated cheese
- 1 cup, for topping
- Cooking oil
- 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, tossing with a little oil to prevent sticking.
- In a large skillet, heat the cooking oil over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onions and minced garlic until fragrant and translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until it is browned and cooked through, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the sliced hot dogs and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until heated through.
- Pour in the tomato sauce and tomato paste, stirring well to combine all ingredients.
- Add the sugar, salt, and black pepper; mix well. Reduce heat and let the sauce simmer for about 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- To serve, place a generous portion of the cooked spaghetti noodles on a plate, then ladle the sauce over the top. Sprinkle grated cheese liberally over the sauce.
- Enjoy your Filipino spaghetti hot, and feel free to add a sprinkle of fried garlic or a dash of hot sauce for an extra kick!
