Servings: 6

Ingredients

Spaghetti noodles
1 pound
Ground beef
1 pound
Hot dogs
4, sliced
Tomato sauce
1 can (15 ounces)
Tomato paste
1 can (6 ounces)
Garlic
4 cloves, minced
Onion
1 medium, finely chopped
Sugar
2 tablespoons
Salt
1 teaspoon, or to taste
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon, or to taste
Grated cheese
1 cup, for topping
Cooking oil
2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, tossing with a little oil to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the cooking oil over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onions and minced garlic until fragrant and translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until it is browned and cooked through, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
  4. Stir in the sliced hot dogs and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until heated through.
  5. Pour in the tomato sauce and tomato paste, stirring well to combine all ingredients.
  6. Add the sugar, salt, and black pepper; mix well. Reduce heat and let the sauce simmer for about 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  7. To serve, place a generous portion of the cooked spaghetti noodles on a plate, then ladle the sauce over the top. Sprinkle grated cheese liberally over the sauce.
  8. Enjoy your Filipino spaghetti hot, and feel free to add a sprinkle of fried garlic or a dash of hot sauce for an extra kick!
