Original recipe serves 4

Whole grain oats
1 cup
Water
4 cups
Salt
1/4 teaspoon
Milk
1/2 cup
Berries (blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries)
1 cup
Honey
2 tablespoons
Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon
Almonds, sliced
1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Once the water is boiling, add 1 cup of whole grain oats and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Reduce the heat to low.
  3. Simmer the oats for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until the porridge reaches your desired consistency.
  4. Remove the porridge from heat and let it rest for a few minutes to thicken up.
  5. Serve the warm porridge in bowls. Pour milk over the top, ensuring it seeps through the oats.
  6. Add a generous handful of your chosen berries to each bowl.
  7. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of honey over the berries and porridge.
  8. Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon evenly across the porridge.
  9. Top off the porridge with a scattering of sliced almonds for an added crunch.
