- Cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons
- Egg
- 1, beaten
- Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon
- White pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon
- Chicken broth
- 4 cups
- Soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons
- Fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon
- Noodles
- 200 grams, any type of your choice (egg noodles or rice noodles)
- Bok choy
- 2 cups, chopped
- Cilantro
- 1/4 cup, chopped
- Green onions

Instructions
- In a food processor, blend the fish fillets and prawns until a smooth paste forms.
- Transfer the fish mixture to a mixing bowl and add the cornstarch, beaten egg, salt, and white pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- With wet hands, shape the mixture into small fish balls, about the size of a tablespoon.
- Bring a pot of water to a boil. Carefully drop the fish balls into the boiling water and cook for 5 minutes. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
- Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process, then set aside.
- In a separate pot, bring the chicken broth to a gentle boil over medium heat.
- Add the soy sauce and fish sauce to the broth, adjusting the seasoning to your preference.
- Add the cooked fish balls, bok choy, and green onions to the broth. Allow to simmer for 2-3 minutes until the bok choy is tender but still vibrant.
- Divide the cooked noodles into serving bowls.
- Ladle the hot fish ball soup over the noodles, ensuring each bowl is filled with fish balls and greens.
- Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro before serving.
- Serve hot, and enjoy the burst of flavors and textures in every bite!
Tips
- For added spice, consider adding sliced chili peppers or a dash of chili oil to the broth.
- Feel free to substitute the fish fillets with other types of fish or seafood, such as crab or scallops.
- For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free noodles and ensure the sauces are gluten-free.
