Fish fillets
200 grams
Prawns
100 grams, peeled and deveined
Cornstarch
2 tablespoons
Egg
1, beaten

1/2 teaspoon
White pepper
1/4 teaspoon
Chicken broth
4 cups
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
Fish sauce
1 tablespoon
Noodles
200 grams, any type of your choice (egg noodles or rice noodles)
Bok choy
2 cups, chopped
Cilantro
1/4 cup, chopped
Green onions
1/4 cup, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, blend the fish fillets and prawns until a smooth paste forms.
  2. Transfer the fish mixture to a mixing bowl and add the cornstarch, beaten egg, salt, and white pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
  3. With wet hands, shape the mixture into small fish balls, about the size of a tablespoon.
  4. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Carefully drop the fish balls into the boiling water and cook for 5 minutes. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
  5. Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process, then set aside.
  6. In a separate pot, bring the chicken broth to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  7. Add the soy sauce and fish sauce to the broth, adjusting the seasoning to your preference.
  8. Add the cooked fish balls, bok choy, and green onions to the broth. Allow to simmer for 2-3 minutes until the bok choy is tender but still vibrant.
  9. Divide the cooked noodles into serving bowls.
  10. Ladle the hot fish ball soup over the noodles, ensuring each bowl is filled with fish balls and greens.
