Ingredients
- Ground pork
- 1 pound
- Chinese five spice powder
- 1 tablespoon
- Garlic
- 2 cloves, minced
- Green onions
- 2, chopped
- Soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon
- Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon
- Lettuce leaves
- 4 leaves
- Tomato slices
- 1 large, sliced
- Hamburger buns
- 4
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, Chinese five spice powder, minced garlic, chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until the ingredients are well incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging while cooking.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
- Cook the patties on the grill for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
- While the patties are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until they are lightly golden.
- Once cooked, remove the patties from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
- Assemble your burgers by placing a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with a pork patty and finish with the other half of the bun.
- Serve the burgers hot, optionally with additional condiments like sriracha or hoisin sauce for a spicy kick!
