Classic French Dressing

Experience the true essence of French cuisine with this classic French Dressing. It's a perfect symphony of tangy and flavorful notes that will elevate your salads and act as an exquisite marinade. This dressing, with its roots tracing back to the early 20th century France, is a timeless classic and a testament to the simplicity and sophistication of French culinary arts.

Serves 8

Ingredients

Onion powder
1/2 teaspoon
Paprika
1/2 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/4 teaspoon
Salt
1/2 teaspoon
Garlic
2 cloves, minced
Honey
1 tablespoon
Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon
Red wine vinegar
1/4 cup
Olive oil
1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the olive oil, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika, and onion powder.
  2. Using a whisk, blend all the ingredients together until they form a smooth and well-incorporated dressing.
  3. Taste the dressing and adjust the seasonings to your liking. If you prefer a sweeter dressing, add more honey. If you like it tangier, a little more vinegar will do the trick.
  4. Transfer the prepared dressing into an airtight jar or container.
  5. Refrigerate the dressing for at least an hour before using it to allow the flavors to meld together.
  6. The dressing can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. Make sure to shake it well before each use.

Tips

  • 💡 For a creamier version, try adding a tablespoon of mayonnaise.
  • 💡 If you like a bit of heat, a pinch of chili flakes can add a nice kick.
