
Fried Chicken and Honey Sandwich
This delicious fried chicken and honey sandwich is a perfect combination of crispy chicken, sweet honey, and soft bread.
Ingredients
- Tomato slices (4)
- Lettuce leaves (4)
- Honey (2 tablespoons)
- Bread slices (4)
- Vegetable oil (2 cups)
- Paprika (1/2 teaspoon)
- Black pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
- Salt (1 teaspoon)
- All (purpose flour - 1 cup)
- Buttermilk (1 cup)
- Chicken breasts (2)
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in a bowl and pour buttermilk over them. Let them marinate for at least 1 hour.
- In a shallow dish, mix together flour, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Remove the chicken breasts from the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off.
- Dredge the chicken breasts in the flour mixture, coating them evenly.
- Carefully place the coated chicken breasts in the hot oil and cook for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Toast the bread slices until lightly golden.
- Spread honey on one side of each bread slice.
- Place a lettuce leaf and tomato slices on two bread slices.
- Top with the fried chicken breasts and cover with the remaining bread slices, honey side down.
- Cut the sandwiches in half and serve.
