Ingredients

Original recipe serves 4

White fish fillets
4
All-purpose flour
1 cup
Cornmeal
1/2 cup
Paprika
1/2 teaspoon
Salt
1/2 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/4 teaspoon
Egg
1
Milk
1 cup
Vegetable oil
for frying
Burger buns
4
Lettuce
4 leaves
Tomato
1, sliced
Tartar sauce
4 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, mix together the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  2. In a second shallow dish, whisk together the egg and milk.
  3. Dip each fish fillet into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and back into the flour mixture to ensure an even coating.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. The oil should be about half an inch deep.
  5. Add the coated fish fillets to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the fish fillets from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain the excess oil.
  7. Lightly toast the burger buns in a toaster or on a grill.
  8. Spread a tablespoon of tartar sauce on the bottom half of each bun.
  9. Place a fried fish fillet on top of the tartar sauce.
  10. Top the fish fillet with a lettuce leaf and a couple of tomato slices.
  11. Cover with the top half of the bun.
  12. Serve the crispy and delectable fried fish sandwiches immediately and enjoy!
