Fried Sweet Plantains (Maduros)

Instructions
- Peel the ripe plantains by cutting off the ends and making a lengthwise slit in the skin. Carefully remove the peel.
- Slice the plantains diagonally into about 1-inch thick pieces.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat until hot.
- Add the sliced plantains to the skillet in a single layer, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and caramelized.
