Ingredients

Original recipe serves 4

Fresh parsley
2 tablespoons, finely chopped
Unsalted butter
4 tablespoons
Garlic
4 cloves, minced
Sea salt
1 teaspoon, or to taste
Extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons
Russet potatoes
4 medium-sized, cut into 1/4 inch thick sticks

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy mess-free baking.
  2. In a large bowl, thoroughly toss the cut potatoes with the olive oil and sea salt. Ensure each fry is coated evenly for optimal flavor and crispness.
  3. Spread out the seasoned potatoes in a single, non-overlapping layer on the prepared baking sheet. This will help them bake evenly and turn golden brown.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the fries are golden and crispy. You can flip the fries halfway through to ensure an even crispness.
  5. While the fries are baking, prepare the garlic butter. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic to the melting butter and sauté until the garlic becomes fragrant with a slightly golden hue, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  6. Once the fries are ready, remove them from the oven and transfer to a large bowl.
  7. Pour the prepared garlic butter over the hot fries. Toss gently to ensure every fry is coated with the garlic butter.
  8. Finally, sprinkle the finely chopped parsley over the fries and toss again to distribute the parsley evenly. The heat from the fries and the garlic butter will partially cook the parsley, releasing its aroma.
  9. Serve your garlic fries hot, with ketchup or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy the crispy exterior and soft interior of these delicious fries.

Tips

  • 💡 For a healthier variation, you can use sweet potatoes instead of russet potatoes.
  • 💡 For an added kick of flavor, sprinkle some grated parmesan over the fries just before serving.
  • 💡 You can use a mixture of herbs like rosemary, thyme, or oregano along with parsley for a different flavor profile.
